BORROWING LIBRARY MATERIALS
Library users must complete a Library Membership Application Form.
Students may borrow up to twelve books in total from the lending sections of the Academic Library and/or the Careers Library.

RESERVATIONS
If an item you require is out on loan, you may reserve it by completing a reservation slip. Alternatively online reservations can be made by readers using any library terminal or networked PC.  From the Library Catalogue search page, select the Log In facility and enter your library card number and PIN code (the first two letters of your surname followed by the first two letters of your first name). If all the copies of an item are out on loan, the option to request will be displayed.

INTER-SITE LIBRARY LOANS
If a book or journal is not in stock in the Hayloft Library it may be possible to borrow or obtain a photocopy via the inter-site library loan service.

LOAN PERIOD AND FINES

The loan periods are 21 days or 7 days.  Books which are in heavy demand are 7 day loans and are clearly labelled.
The following fines are charged for overdue items:
  • Normal loan: 10p a day
  • 7 day loan: £1.00 a day

If you accrue fines of over £20, your borrowing rights will be suspended - i.e. you may not borrow any more books until the fine is below £20.

LOST/DAMAGED ITEMS
Users who lose or damage an item so that it has to be replaced will be requested to pay the cost of replacement.

RENEWALS
Loans may be renewed by telephone, in person, e-mail, online or by letter provided they have not been requested by another user.   Online renewals can be made from the Library Catalogue using the Log In facility. You will need your library card number and PIN code (the first two letters of your surname followed by the first two letters of your first name).
